hydrogen bonding and entropy effects contribute to the Gibbs free energy of the process of dissolution. Its thermodynamically favorable for it to dissolve, and there is also a kinetic pathway available. What more could one want ? :)- ChrisWhewell

Trying to make Gasoline from scratch, figuring it out.
Just build a table-top Fischer-Tropfsch reactor. I mean, some guys build model railroads... Question is, are any chemists that sick so as to build scale-model chemical plants ? I'm curious to know how the space between two magnets arranged so their like poles are forced to be nearer to one another is distorted. Is the energy in the space between such poles at a higher state than the surroundings, in an amount proportional to the force exerted in bringing the magnets...- ChrisWhewell
