I Error on a weighing scale due to wrong size
If you have say a 15 centimetre long piece of rigid plastic and the weighing scale's tray is only 10 centimetres, what is an estimate of the error that introduces in the measurement assuming the weight is still within normal parameters for the weighing scale. I was wondering what the approximate...- cloa513

Courses What should be my ESL syllabus for teaching physics for baseball?
Classroom has next to nothing- I bring all for any demonstrations and they pay for nothing beyond some not very good or appropriate textbooks and the principal who was an engineer has some books but they aren't helpful for this course material. I graduated from university in Engineering but that...- cloa513

Courses What should be my ESL syllabus for teaching physics for baseball?
Thanks for your reply. Conservation of momentum. The other parts are way too advanced for him. As I pointed out they haven't done gravity at school. He is going have trouble if I try to explain drag and lift.- cloa513

Courses What should be my ESL syllabus for teaching physics for baseball?
My student is very basic in physics in first grade of a Japanese junior high school and the physics is so basic such as they were teaching about forces and not yet gravity. He is pretty good at reading English and formulating a speech but the lessons are not very responsive. I worked on...- cloa513

What are free online resources for very basic physics?
I am teaching an ESL student in English very basic physics like friction and forces- it needs to be very simplified with quantitative explanations- a lot more easy to understand with pictural descriptions and I basically have to show what I bring from home and this being Japan the resources...- cloa513

What is the worst problem caused by reversing the polarity?

What's your opinion of a Math without Reals?
No he is taking away abstract concepts. Pi is a abstract concept trying adding pi it solves nothing physicists get confused because they try to solve a real spheres volume using the concept Pi rather the real number which will be less generally in value.. So is infinity one of worse defined...- cloa513

Shock to an infant when pulling power cord out of a wall socket
My son occasionally pulls plugs from powerpoints. We tried to get a powerpoint cover but the strong tape here in Japan is weak and it fell off easily. I was just wondering how much electric shock he might get from pulling out the cord when the device (a fan) is operating. Its a two prong...- cloa513
