Find 0.1M NaOH Vol for 1L: 50% NaOH Soln
What volume of 50% NaOH (by weight) solution is necessary to prepare 1 litre of 0.1M NaOH? Assume that the density of the NaOH solution is 1.53g/ml. -

Undergrad Comparison Theorem for integrals
(1 + x^1/2)/x <= ((1 + x^1/2)/x)^1/2 for all x >= 1. Thus since the integral of(1 + x^1/2)/x diverges as does the original function. Thanks -

Undergrad Comparison Theorem for integrals
I have to use the comparison theorem to find if the function converges or diverges. Any ideas as to what I can use to compare the function to?? integrate: sqrt(1 + sqrt(x))/sqrt(x)dx Using the comparison theorem! -

Calculating Volume of Weather Balloon to Lift 4220kg Package
All right, so: W(balloon) + W(package) W(helium) = F(buoyant) 4973.67 + 41398.2 + [0.179 * volume * 9.81](heluim) = F = 1.29 * volume * 9.81 But what do I put if for volume..??- Corky

Calculating Volume of Weather Balloon to Lift 4220kg Package
A 507kg weather balloon is designed to lift a 4220kg package. What volume should the balloon have after being filled with helium at STP in order that the total load can be lifted. I have no idea how to start this problem...- Corky

Sound intensity and ocean microphone
The problem states: A microphone in the ocean is sensitive to sounds emitted by popoises. To produce a usable signal , sound waves striking the microphone must have an intesity of 10.6 dB. If porpoises emit sound waves with a power of 0.0502 W, how far can a porpoise be from the microphone and...- Corky

What is bond order and why is it important in molecular chemistry?
I have a structure of KNO3, and a question I have asks for the NO bond number. The answer, aparently, is 4/3. The equation I am trying to use Bond order = 0.5(Bonde electrons - antibonding electrons. I simply can't get 4/3 though. -

Analyzing Acceleration and Forces in a Pulley System
All right, at this point I have subtract tention left (w = 10791N) from tention right (14600N)and got a net force of 3809N. I used the equation [I(moment of intertia)= 0.5mr^2] to calculate the mass of the disk to be 291.2kg. Then I used the net force, 3809, with the equation F=ma to find the...- Corky

Analyzing Acceleration and Forces in a Pulley System
Oh right forgot about that detail. Well I caculated weight = mass * gravity for the tension on the leftn side of the pully to be (1100kg) * (9.81) and from there I am not really sure. I would expect to have to subtract the given motion of inertia from the tention on the right, and then subtract...- Corky

Analyzing Acceleration and Forces in a Pulley System
A motor raises a mass (m = 1100kg), it produces a tension of 1.46 *10^-4 in the cable on the right side of the pulley. the pulley has a moment of inertia of 73.8Kg*m^2 and a radius of 0.712m. The cable rides over the pulley without slipping. Determine the acceleration of mass m. The question...- Corky
