I was just reading about EM wave propagation and had two questions I would appreciate an answer to.
1-I read how the electric and magnetic fields of an EM wave oscillate sinusoidally and perpendicular to each other and the direction the wave is traveling. Is there any significance or special...
I was reworking it and wanted to know if this was valid.
P=EMF*I - I^2r
I used I^2r = P to get
P = EMF*I - P ----> P+P = EMF*I ----> 2P/EMF = I
I know P = I^2R but wasn't sure if I could do the same with P = I^2r
Homework Statement
A resistor with resistance R is connected to a battery that has emf 12.0 V and internal resistance r=0.40 ohms. For what two values of R will the power dissipated in the resistor be 80.0 W?
P=80 W
r=0.40 ohms
EMF=12V
Find R
Homework Equations
P=VI, = I^2R = V^2/R...

A charged paint is spread in a very thin uniform layer over the surface of a
plastic sphere of diameter 12.0 cm, giving it a charge of -35.0 mC. Find the
electric field (a) just inside the paint layer, (b) just outside the paint layer, (c)
5.00 cm outside the surface of...
