Thanks for your reply Eynstone.
Now I think the general problem is that lim[plim(X)]] makes sense (if both limits
exist at least), but that plim[lim(X)] maybe doesn't, since I'm not sure you can take a lim of a random variable.
Hi. I have two questions, one general and one particular.
1) The general one is if you know or can give me a reference of when can I change the order of a probability limit and the pointwise limit of a function (assuming both plim and lim exist)
Say, take a sequence X_n(k) of i.i.d. random...
Hey everyone,
My understanding of difference equation is very limited and, after consulting a few books, I decided to post this here to get some ideas or at least some references on where to look.
I have a symmetric first order difference equation system in two variables, X and Y.
Though...
Uhm...I wrote a long post, but the program crashed...I'll try to recover some of it.
First, you can check the first chapter of Sidney Resnick - A probability path, for the definitions of \limsup and \liminf
Basically, the idea with those two animals is to capture the definition of a...
Thanks for your reply!
I've read a bit of the Feynman lectures, and it has certainly been a rewarding effort.
I haven't seen the book by Penrose, but I'll check it out.

Hey!
I know there are a lot of book recomendations in this site, but I thought my background
is sufficiently strange to ask for a special answer.
I've got my Calculus, basic Real Analysis and linear algebra OK.
I'm rather weak in geometry though, but I feel ok learning new stuff in maths.
I...
