Are there any comprehensive QM/QP books for 1st year undergrads?
Thanks again, I'll get these all down on a list for when I'm next looking to get a few books :) So far got - Griffith's and the Feynman lecture series. Plus some general books for conceptual rather than mathematical reading from Kaku, Hawking, Greene etc.- Dan27

Cheers for the replies! Just went for Griffiths' book, had good reviews and sounds like a good introductory one.- Dan27

Are there any comprehensive QM/QP books for 1st year undergrads?
Hey guys, just wondering whether anybody knows of any good, clear books on quantum mechanics for a 1st year undergrad that would take me through my whole 4 year course - with introductory fundamentals of quantum physics through to the modern advances. Any advice would be appreciated - Dan27

Drag on a ball - NewtonII & calculus
That's brilliant thank you :) I just assumed that I could neglect the negative by taking the acceleration or \frac{dv}{dt} to also be negative? Also, by dividing by v^2 would the RHS not be \frac{-40}{v^2} dv Thank you!- Dan27

Drag on a ball - NewtonII & calculus
Homework Statement A football of mass 0.4 kg travels horizontally above the ground. The ball experiences a drag force of DT = 0.01v2 where v is instantaneous speed. Immediately after the kick the ball has a speed of 15 m/s. How long does it take for the speed to drop to 12 m/s? Homework...- Dan27
