Joining a base/foot to a leg without welding

Could put a pipe on the foot that is of a smaller diameter to allow it to slot inside the leg? Drill a hole through both pieces and then put a pin through.

Dynamic Pressure Valve for Heated Gas Release

Ahhh, My apologies. Yeah we are talking big boilers, we need a fair bit of steam for all the heating systems for fuel oils etc. They vent to atmosphere usually via the funnel.

Dynamic Pressure Valve for Heated Gas Release

I work at sea, and on our boilers we have these types of valves. We use them as safety valves to ensure the pressure inside the boiler doesn't get too high. Ours are mechanically operated using a spring though. Spring is set to compress at a certain pressure, it is normally closed, pressure...

Probably had to put units after it so it wasnt actually a valid answer? Just got your marks for the working out?

What is the correct sign convention for the change in internal energy?

I also know it as Q-W = Delta U. I can only guess he means it could be Q + W if the figure you have for work is negative, Ie, work done to the system? Q - -W = Delta U? As a minus and a minus is a plus? or say 10 - -5 = 15 Hope this helps.

    Don't get this dynamics problem

I get them as 82N and 58N? Anything close to what you get? The crate is already given to you in Newtons, So no need to add gravity as it is already a force... If it was in kg, then you need to mulitply it by gravity. My Solution: Doesnt even need calculations ;) Although, it only gives a...
