    Intel Manufacturing Technician good prior experience for aspiring EE?

    I say go for it, I just did. It will give you a great name to put on your resume. The pay is pretty decent, and Intel has tuition reimbursement. Plus you get to play with all the toys you've learned about in school in an industry situation.

    Brightness of Light Bulbs Ranking Task

    It doesn't have less resistance, all resistances are the same. It has more voltage because the equivalent resistance of RcRdRe is greater than that of RaRb. If you link brightness to power (P=I*V) and Rab has the same current as Rcde, then because the voltage is higher Rc has more power.

    Most Pertinent Topics; Calc 2 -> 3

    Yes we are on the quarter system. It seems, in the end, we all eventually cover the same things. So I would say just read the class description to find out what lays ahead.

    Most Pertinent Topics; Calc 2 -> 3

    Interesting, my proggression was calc I- differential calc II- integral calc III- series/sequence & intro L.A. Then calc IV (multi-variable) is broken down into two classes vector A and vector B. I guess different schools do it different ways.

    Most Pertinent Topics; Calc 2 -> 3

    Well, we covered volume integrals in calc II, and the rest of those topics are covered in vector calc A/B. 2 classes I have yet to take.

    Most Pertinent Topics; Calc 2 -> 3

    Hmm that's odd nobody had much series and sequences. I just finished calc III at my school and over the 8 summer weeks, 5 weeks was series and sequences, and the last three were linear algebra/vectors. We covered all the series/sequence tests, taylor series,polynomial series conversions, and did...

    How Much Harder Is Calculus 2 vs Calculus 1?

    I personally found calc 2 to much easier than calc 1. I really only had a little trouble with the visualization in 3-d to solve for volumes, but after a couple weeks it wasn't too bad. Calc 2 is easier because are not nearly as dramatically new concepts as in calc 1.

    Desktop vs Laptop for Undergraduate Physics

    A lot of laptops are pretty snappy nowadays and can probably handle anything you may want to with it for awhile. I would say if you have a lot of down time to do homework on campus, a laptop is invaluable, especially when having to write up many reports or papers for gen ed classes. It's much...

    Electric Engineering Curriculum no programming class?

    I have programming for engineers which has a pre-req of C++ programming, and I also also have to have Lab-View programming.

    Electric Engineering Curriculum no programming class?

    That does seem odd. For my program I have to take 2 programming classes minimum.

    What's on Your Fall 2010 Science Schedule?

    I'm doing 20 credits, but shouldn't be too horrible: Circuit Analysis + Lab Digital Applications + Lab C++ Programming Calc based Physics I Macro-economics

    Schools Navigating Community College Math: From Homeschooling to Engineering Transfer

    Hey, don't stress too much. Keep studying hard, go back and review the basic algebra you feel shaky on, there are plenty of sites that do a good job recapping that stuff. The first 3 weeks or so of calc I is very difficult, I felt horrible after my first test as well. I did have a fairly good...

    Physics Is a Physics BS and MechE Master's Unattractive to Employers?

    I have a friend who went that route and had no problems getting a job at a big engineering firm as soon as he graduated.

    Programs Math courses recommended for electrical engineering major?

    My EE program requires differential calc, integral calc, series calc, vector calc, differential eq's, linear algebra, mathematical statistics,and statistical methods II. And most technical classes involve tons of applied math.
