Planning a Math Fun Day for 200 Kids: Ideas Needed!
Heya, The seniour mathematics teacher at my school has given me (and a few others) the task of designing a 'Math Fun Day'; an event in which about 200 crazy 12-13 year olds visit our science and mathematics school to participate in mathematical activities/games. We're running short on...- decs

Graduate Pure randomness & the incomprehensible universe
I understand that we can't precisly know a particle position because of the uncertainty principle. but doesn't that just mean we're 'uncertain' of its position/velocity because we alter them in order to try and measure them, or is it that we don't know because its future is random (to a degree)... -

Graduate Pure randomness & the incomprehensible universe
is anything in our beautiful univerese 'purely' random? David Suzuki states in 'The Sacred Balance' that because we cannot know with certanty the position of a particle we therefore have no hope in understanding the univerese as we do not understand the most elementary levels. Anyway, i... -

What makes water safe/unsafe to drink?
i'm investigating how the molecular construction of water makes it safe for us to drink, what components would make it unsafe or 'less safe', and how i could test for these things. Cheers, -

High School Physical aspects of our Solar System
i have absolutely no data about any of the prior. what i DO have is various cities locations and the amount of daylight they experienced on the 4th of July. I should be able to extend these findings to make a generalisation about the hours of daylight for any latitude and longitude. there...- decs

High School Physical aspects of our Solar System
Consider the physical aspects of our Solar System that result in the Earth having seasons... how does this gives us variable hours of daylight. How would i calculate the shortest or longest day for a specific point on earth? cheers.- decs

Graduate Timeflow, light, spatial speed, quarks & anti-matter questions
so do you mean to say that time is infinite in both forward AND backward directions? doesn't this just prove that the universe has and always will exist? but wait a second... if time has an infinite backward direction, it therefore can't even get a milisecond older... and therefore, time MUST...- decs

Graduate Timeflow, light, spatial speed, quarks & anti-matter questions
hi all. I am new, and am bursting with questions about everything. I've always been interested in quantum physics, however, have never had enough knowledge to do anything about it. But I am in high school! and after getting bored in our energy and machines physics course, i decided to do...- decs
