Center of Mass involving three cubes
Homework Statement Three cubes, of side l, 2l, and 3lo, are placed next to one another (in contact) with their centers along a straight line and the l = 2lo cube in the center. What is the position, along this line, of the CM of this system? Assume the cubes are made of the same uniform...- DLPhysics

How Far Does the Sled Travel Before Stopping?
Fg acts down on the sled while Fn keeps the sled on the ground. Ffr acts to the right because I assume she is moving to the left. However, is the hill at an angle? I think it is, but if it is, I don't know how to find the angle. PLEASE, SOMEBODY HELP!- DLPhysics

How Far Does the Sled Travel Before Stopping?
I also know that there is acceleration involved at some point, but I don't know how long it took her to decelerate from 6.2 m/s to 0 m/s. I'm REALLY FRUSTRATED at this point because whenever I setup Force and Kinematic equations, I'm always missing TWO variables. I would like someone to HELP me...- DLPhysics

How Far Does the Sled Travel Before Stopping?
I think that I need the angle of the hill she is sliding down to find out the acceleration because I certainly think that she is sliding down the hill, and I know that friction affects her motion.- DLPhysics

Guy Jumping out of Building (Air Resistance)
Homework Statement A 72 kg person escapes from a burning building by jumping from a window 30 m above a catching net. The acceleration of gravity is 9.81 m/s2. Assuming that air resistance is simply a constant 88 N force on the person during the fall, determine the person’s velocity just...- DLPhysics

How Far Does the Sled Travel Before Stopping?
Homework Statement A girl coasts down a hill on a sled, reaching level ground at the bottom with a speed of 6.2 m/s. The coefficient of kinetic friction between the sled’s runners and the hard, icy snow is 0.059, and the girl and sled together weigh 736 N.The acceleration of gravity is 9.81...- DLPhysics

2 Dimensional Question (rock projected from edge of top of building)
Vy=10.55380643 m/sec (I did this before, but the HW said that it wasn't the vertical component of the velocity of the rock when it struck the ground a = 9.8 (positive because the rock is falling) Viy = ? Vf = Vi + at Vf = 0 + (-9.8)(6.369258724) Vf = -62.418973549 h = Viy (time) +...- DLPhysics

Solving Z^7+128: Finding Factors & Easier Ways
I believe the seventh root of -128 is -2, so the factor would be (x + 2), so use synthetic division to see what you have left, then work from there.- DLPhysics

2 Dimensional Question (rock projected from edge of top of building)
Homework Statement A rock is projected from the edge of the top of a building with an initial velocity of 18.4 m/s at an angle of 35◦ above the horizontal. The rock strikes the ground a horizontal distance of 96 m from the base of the building. The acceleration of gravity is 9.8 m/s2 ...- DLPhysics
