Schools Thoughts on religious versus non religious universities?

True, but I've checked all the Ucs and state schools in my area, only Berkeley allows a second degree... in chemistry. Hopefully that'll change in the upcoming years. I guess admissions is just very crowded nowadays

    Are eyebrows ever perfectly symmetrical?

Mine are not, one is arched one is not. I always have to warn salons that I have uneven eyebrows and they have to kind of even it out.

Have Grading Curves Ever Surprised You?

The weirdest thing was in one of my business class when I got a 50% on my final debate paper, C on debate(teammate did nothing) and B's on my mid term and final and somehow ended up with a B+ in the class. I didn't go back and ask what my final grade was, didn't want to know, as long as I got my B+

What Happened During My Terrifying Train Wreck?

I've been in situations that are supposed to be scary, but I guess I was too young/slow to understand, When I was a toddler, I fell off the high chair(i think that's what you call it). A strap tangle around my leg and prevented me from hitting the ground head first. When I was about 6 or 7, my...

Is It Too Late to Overcome My Fear of Math and Pursue Physics?

I'm in a similar boat. I scraped by with Cs throughout algebra(8th grade) to Calculus 2(college) (although I took calculus 1 two times). I gave up studying physics and switched to business management, and just finished my BS in it. I'm going to go back and study physics again but this time, I'm...

Schools Thoughts on religious versus non religious universities?

My sister is one of those very hard working people... but doesn't exactly have good reasoning skills. In other words, she's derpy. o_O

Schools Thoughts on religious versus non religious universities?

My sister is going to college next year and is considering a non religious university (UC Merced) or Seattle U, a Catholic University. She is not religious and wants to go Seattle U because my aunt is in Seattle. My question is, do religious universities have the same or even better quality...

Can a fly on an airplane fly faster than the airplane?

My dad asked me this yesterday, if a fly(insect) flies from one end to the airplane to another, would it be flying faster than the airplane? The obvious answer is no, it's physically impossible, but how do I articulate the reasoning, I know it has something to do with the reference frame of...

    Loop-de-loop work energy problem

Homework Statement A particle of mass m slides along a frictionless track. It starts from rest at height h above the bottom of the loop of radius R. A) what is the minimum value of h(in terms of R) such that the particle completes the loop? If the particle starts from height h=3.5R, find the...

Momentum problem of blocks and bullet

I'm sorry, I'm a bit confused, did I plug in the numbers into the equation wrong? When I entered the answer in, they were rounded to 778m/s and 960 m/s

The numbers is where I did the calculations, i submitted them for hw, it's online and it said they were wrong

Momentum problem of blocks and bullet

Homework Statement In Figure (1), a 3.50 g bullet is fired horizontally at two blocks at rest on a frictionless table. The bullet passes through block 1 (mass 1.18 kg) and embeds itself in block 2 (mass 1.85 kg). The blocks end up with speeds v1 = 0.540 m/s and v2 = 1.47 m/s (Figure (2))...

    Study skills across different topics/subjects

I have a hard time with math and physics. Part of the problem is its hard for me to decipher equations and theorems with so many symbols. My best subject is English, reading and writing comes very naturally for me, but I also find it very boring and tedious. Do you guys have any suggestions on...

    Instantaenous velocity/center of mass? help

Homework Statement A large wedge with a mass of 10 kg rests on a horizontal frictionless surface, as shown. A block with a mass of 5.0 kg starts from rest and slides down the inclined surface of the wedge, which is rough. At one instant the vertical component of the block's velocity is of...
