Graduate What Is Beyond The Observable Universe?
Okay! What I say is; We are within a space which extends forever in 3D. Our universe occupies a certain volume within this infinite black space. We can't find even a one single atom outside our universe. I don't think there are another universe or universes around or in deep distant space. Our... -

Graduate What Is Beyond The Observable Universe?
Some people still believes there is nothing beyond universe, and they don't even accept empty space or anything else. But they can't answer the question when you ask "How are you going to fill up the rest of the infite volume?" They can't realize the truth of "Black space extend forever". I... -

Graduate Taking picture in atto second? Yes we did.
Hey man look what I have found! Andreas Ipp and his colleagues at the Max Planck Institute for Nuclear Physics calculate that yoctosecond light pulses can be produced. And they did it just 2 months ago in October, 2009. The creation of attosecond-scale light pulses is an astounding feat, and...- eha

Graduate Taking picture in atto second? Yes we did.
Hello Astronuc, I didn't have time to get back to you, sorry about that. If I say "Activities have been measured in an atto second" Does it make sense? I read this topic in a scientific article about 4 years ago. They had given an example to better understand what have they done. Of course...- eha

Graduate Taking picture in atto second? Yes we did.
Hello everybody! I wonder what is the latest developments in nano level photography. It was about four years ago when I heard picture were taken in atto second. It was a great achievment for mankind. It was like a challenge to catch speed of light. Did we go further down to zepto(10^-21m) level...- eha

High School Do our fingers ever touch electrons or nucleis?
Hello everybody! We are discussing this topic but nobody sures what actually happens when we handle things what parts of atoms we actually touch? Or does magnetic sphere of atom stops our fingers to touch electrons and nucleis? How strong their magnetic shields are? Thanks in advance if you...- eha

Undergrad Does Light Slow Down During Long-Distance Space Travel?
Is it true? I've heard this news couple years ago: Not for the short distances but during long distance travels light slow downs once in a while. İt sounds logical to me, we shouldn't expect the light will move at the same speed all the times and everywhere. During it's billions of years travel...- eha

Hot Deserts: Average Temps & Satellite Recordings
I think satellites are measuring the temperature of surfaces of the other deserts regularly, but i can't get to those figures at the moment. Thanks for your interest.- eha

Hot Deserts: Average Temps & Satellite Recordings
What are average high temperatures in the middle of the deserts during hot summer times? A sattelite has recorded a surface temperature of 71 celsius (159 F) in Lut Desert in 2005, however no given date or season in 2005. How about temperatures above 1,5 m from the ground and in other hot...- eha

High School Are there any stars that do not have a planetary system?
How many man on Earth over 50 yrs old and has no kids? Plenty of them. Can't i say this for stars? Without planets? I can't give you any evidence at the moment but I'm pretty sure there must be plenty of stars without planets. However if we think planetary systems and atoms structures are more...- eha

Undergrad The universe is expanding & the universe is infinite
Thanks Marcus, you explain real good. Now I started to follow up WMAP studies on cosmology except those formulas. So far what I understand is; we are going to keep balloon model for awhile, and we adopt the rule of "density of universe equals to critical density" which means universe is flat...- eha

The universe 700 trillion light years away.
We are just trying to realize vastness of 156Gly, which is suppose to be our entire universe's recently measured diameter, i see somebody jumping high, talking about even 5000 times bigger universe. In that distance there might be a different universe, who knows. But i personally believe there... -

Graduate Inflation: Why all the 10^27s everywhere?
Haven't you heard the latest measurement of the diameter of entire universe? It's about 156 billion light years wide. No kidding, most part of the universe moving away with the speed of up to 12 times faster than light. -

Undergrad The universe is expanding & the universe is infinite
I'm thinking the same way you do Gumbo. Universe occupies a certain volume within endless space. Universe is never going to fill up the entire space, no way, even expansion lasts forever. Another thing that I recently hear a lot about shape of the universe. I was just realizing this basketball...- eha
