Yes like CPL said your degree won't be worth anything if the University isn't accredited.
You should move because you seem like a guy that wants to try to be the best you can be and that this uni is holding you back because you want to earn A's and not just be given them.

Another quary I have is, what type of effect does an engineering degree from a poor Uni (lesser recognised/not so big reputation) have on your chances in terms of employment.
I'm sure an employer won't say that he's not hiring you because you have long hair , but like many other professions, you just won't get the job. Though if your looks tidy then you have as good a chance as anyone.
And as for the dreads, hopefully you grow out of them by the time you graduate !

I usually don't study unless when a test comes up and then I can study for about 5 hours a day for about 2 weeks. Also I tend to wait till the last moment to do an assignment and spend about 4-6 hours doing it (untill the early hours of the morning)
