Are all human actions motivated by self interest?
very good point. but both the examples you give are very much the type of death that is instant. it might also be possible the quick reaction to the circumstances are the reason why one didnt have enought time to evaluate their own self-interests. but also it might be that their own...- elibol

Are all human actions motivated by self interest?
i am not a machiavellian deceitful power zealot. also i am not a believer in heaven or hell. so it seems an eternity in heaven isn't the only conceivable way to persuade someone to be a good person. my way of living include my statement of human compassion and living a happy fulfilling life...- elibol

Are all human actions motivated by self interest?
unless feeling good is your only motive, then i think it is no different then having sex to feel good. but if you do it because the person is in need of your help, then this is simply human compassion: this is the way of living where one agrees that everyone has as much a right to be as happy...- elibol

What Is the Most Valuable Personality Trait?
me, i am able to be whatever i want to be. i think that is because i am much younger than a lot of the people that have already posted on this thread, but i know exactly how i want to be, and i am already living it.- elibol

Who is the liar in this logic puzzle?
thanks. i admit i was wrong. but i don't think i ever would have figured it out or understood it as fully without the blue-eyed version's follow up question... it might sound a bit pathetic to some of you, but the process it took for me to get to the solution to this problem will be a...- elibol

Who is the liar in this logic puzzle?
ok, i was wrong, and i was able to figure this out with the blue-eyed monks version's follow up question. it is essential to accually understanding the purpose of the announcement, and for me, to understanding how the entire problem makes any sense. it states: "It's clear that the visitor...- elibol

Dream Psychology: People's Opinions Wanted
thats rough, i have seen no such consequence from weed in my life. i guess it is more that i am afraid of it affecting my mental health then the fear of hurting myself in some accident because of weed. for someone who cares for neither i would expect they smoke weed for ever =]- elibol

Dream Psychology: People's Opinions Wanted
yea, I've smoked pot for a year now, and i am cutting down slowly also uncontrolably... it is causing me to have serious miscalculations based on paradox like thought patterns i fall into. one of them for example was thinking i was dreaming when i was awake, and when that happened i tried...- elibol
