Given in problemThe Attempt at a Solution
Hey guys
So I have this problem I'm working on and I just can't seem to get too far with it. I've gotten half of the first part...I'm just having trouble integrating the equation I got...and I don't even know if...
Hey guys
There are so many of these damn "Find a basis" questions and I can't get any of them because we never directly learned how...or she never showed us in class...my final exam is tomorrow.
Here are some examples of questions:

No idea. The Attempt at a Solution
Alright...so really no idea what to do here...never did any examples like this in class and have scoured over my notes for 2 hours now trying to figure this out...and...
Thanks for your help I pretty much get it now. But in the second question I only see her solving for the dim of the null space and not looking @ the rank or dim of the column space as you said (I understand why you would do that now).
Here's a pic of it in my notes...
Hi guys
So I'm studying for my test tomorrow and I understand how to find the dimensions of ColA and NulA, but what I don't understand is when they give you for example a matrix H, and then they just say Find dimH.
What am I suppose to be solving for? We did two examples in class and in one...
Yea sorry that's what I meant to say! Basis not span!
Yes what you said did help but I still do not understand how to know whether or not a set of vectors given is a span or not. Like saying a basis is a 'linearly independent spanning set'. How do you know the spanning set part?
Hey guys
So the problem I'm having here is spans!
I know that a basis of a vector space is a linearly independent spanning set
So the linearly independent part is pretty easy...looking at whether or not vectors are linear combinations of the others (right? Or do I have to look at it by...
Great thanks so I'm pretty much done my report I just have one more question. This is the 2nd stop we saw after seeing the picture in my FIRST post. I haven't posted this before but I now have questions baout it and it could help you with understanding the depositional environment...
True, but I'm going on the basis that the Mount Royal area had some igneous activity in the past. Also the highest rock is also igneous...
Am I going on the wrong path here or what? I need to write what the depositional environment was at the time but I'm quite lost!
