Convert 1-5V to 4-20mA: Which op-amp ?
True. Things look easier on paper. It s a mess getting some things working! haha! Ok! thanks a lot for your help ! :) everyone!- Etude

Convert 1-5V to 4-20mA: Which op-amp ?
Jim, actually I did read through that but could not make out head or tail of the circuits. (sorry my electrical is rather poor being a mech person). The circuit with the amp and resistor seemed really easy to understand so I thought I d try that out first...- Etude

Oh no! It s an analog voltage that I will control and will not be abrupt at all.- Etude

Convert 1-5V to 4-20mA: Which op-amp ?
By switching speed what are you referring to ? Actually I have only used the LM741 amp once before and actually have no experience with using amps apart from that one so I asked if I could use that one. Do you have any suggestions of other amps that I can look at ?- Etude

Convert 1-5V to 4-20mA: Which op-amp ?
So i found this post about voltage to current conversion. http://www.allaboutcircuits.com/vol_3/chpt_8/7.htmlhttp://www.allaboutcircuits.com/vol_3/chpt_8/7.html It talks about how to convert 1-5V to 4-20mA which is exactly what I am trying to do. I have attached the circuit which I am...- Etude

Relays - Controlling voltage flowing for heater elements to maintain temperature
Hi Integral. Yup I saw the PID control and that it auto tunes. So is that enough for maintaining stable temperature? I thought that the PID control should be enough but this guy with me doesn't seem to think so. :P Well, thank you, I guess I ll just set the whole thing up and see who it...- Etude

Relays - Controlling voltage flowing for heater elements to maintain temperature
So I have a UT130 Temperature Controller turning on and off a heater element through a SSR relay to maintain the temperature of water at a constant temperature. But the problem is that the temperature will still fluctuate making the relay go on and off continuously. I need the water to stay at...- Etude

Output 0-20mA from an Arduino with ATMega328
Hi! I am using a Arduino Duemilanove with ATMEga328 for my project. I need an input of 0-20mA into a speed indicator. I know that the Ardunio pins have a current output of 0-40 mA and was wondering if I could use one of the pics to input 0-20mA into the speed indicator. I know that directly...- Etude

Vary voltage and frequency of Square Wave
Hi! I am using an AtMega32 to output a square wave. I am varying the frequency by toggling the output pin using Timer1. However, I also need to vary the voltage of the wave and frankly, have no idea how to. I tried looking up google but not much of it made sense to me thanks to my limited...- Etude

Pthread.h on ATmega32 micrcontroller
Ok This might be really stupid but I have been finding conflicting answers and getting very confused. I am trying to program an Atmel ATmega32 using embedded C. This is my first time and I wanted to know if I can use threads in the programming. Thanx!- Etude
