How Can You Determine the Correct Sign for Image Height in Mirror Equations?
well either your di or your do should be negative because they are on opposite sides of the mirror. its up to you how you make your axes. at least that's what it seems like. id recommend reading the text where you got the equation to see how they define di and do (whether its a distance or...- genghiskron

Coeffecient of static friction problem
yeah that free-body diagram is crucial. make sure the x-axis is parallel to the slope of the triangle. i would use 18 degrees for your theta max, not 19, because the balance is not valid for 19 degrees.- genghiskron

Undergrad How Does Opening a Valve Affect the Force Due to Fluid Pressure?
Make sure you state exactly what you know from the problem. A problem like this can be solved many ways if you know most of the information, but a homework problem usually gives you the bare minimum and can only be solved one way. If fluid is flowing through a control volume, a valve for...- genghiskron

Undergrad Converting engine power into a force
power is energy/time. energy or work, is force*distance. so instantaneous power is force*distance/time, which is force*velocity.- genghiskron
