Asymptotic running time of code segments
It's actually supposed to be "pseudo-code". Appreciate the help guys So for B, would it be theta (n) because the outer loop dominates? And C is theta(1)? but for D, how could we answer this if we don't know what 'n' will be? Everything I posted is everything I was given in the question- GeorgeCostanz

Asymptotic running time of code segments
I'm trying to grasp some basic concepts of analyzing code segments. Not sure if I have the right thought process. Can't find many examples online. Homework Statement A.) for (i=1; i<n; i++) for (j=1; j<n; j++) return 1 Guess: Theta(n) because both loops go to (n) and they're...- GeorgeCostanz

Summation problem (first N positive integers)
Homework Statement Homework Equations so i kno the formula for the for the sum of the first N positive integers when i = 1The Attempt at a Solution i kno the answer = [SIZE="4"]n^2(n+1)/2 but could someone explain step by step how you reduce it to get the final answer? as if I'm in...- GeorgeCostanz

C/C++ What does the space above 'E' represent in a C++ deque diagram?
I have a minor question about this diagram I'm hoping someone can clear up for me. The deque has initial capacity 4. The following operations are performed. push_back(1) push_back(2) push_back(3) pop_front() pop_front() push_back(4) push_front(5) push_front(6) push_front(7) final answer...- GeorgeCostanz

Asymptotic time complexity of Recursive function
Homework Statement I've been asked to develop a recursive function and then analyze the asymptotic time complexity. f(N) = 0, if N < N1 f(N1) = C1 f(N)= A1 + M1*f(M2*N/D1 - S1) Op M3*f(M4*N/D2 - S2), if N > N1 Homework Equations We're to assume that: s1 = s2 = 0 m2 =...- GeorgeCostanz

How Does Changing Electric Field Influence Magnetic Field in a Capacitor?
wow I'm slow it's a miracle I've even made it this far so for r < R, B = (1/2)µoεo(r)(dE/dt) thus B = [ (1/2)(r)(dE/dt) ] / C2 guess i got mixed up with all these equations/derivations in front of me thanks tiny-tim- GeorgeCostanz

How Does Changing Electric Field Influence Magnetic Field in a Capacitor?
i got the right answer using the following equation (googled the question) B = [ (1/2)(r)(dV/dt) ] / C2 C = 3x108 = speed of light in vacuum dV/dt = 1.9x106 r = .121m not sure how the 2 equations are related tho- GeorgeCostanz

How Does Changing Electric Field Influence Magnetic Field in a Capacitor?
@tiny-tim sure. Id = [ (E\circA)/d ] * (dV/dt) Id = [ (E\circ*(∏(.492))/.0022 ] * (1.9x106) Id = .005765 A i guess :smile:- GeorgeCostanz

How Does Changing Electric Field Influence Magnetic Field in a Capacitor?
Homework Statement A parallel-plate capacitor has circular plates with radius 49.0 cm and spacing 2.20 mm. A uniform electric field between the plates is changing at the rate of 1.90 MV/m/s. Find the magnitude of the magnetic field between the plates at a point 12.1 cm from the axis (entirely...- GeorgeCostanz

Understanding the Magnetic Field of a Current Loop: True or False?
well the answers ended up being: True: The B Field at C points into the plane of the paper. True: If an external magnetic field directed out of the plane of the paper were introduced, the torque on the coil would be zero. False: The magnetic moment of the loop points into the plane of the...- GeorgeCostanz
