The paper by Jaynes cited in that Wiki page is here: http://bayes.wustl.edu/etj/articles/theory.1.pdf I would be interesting to know if that work has withstood the test of time.- GeorgeWBush

Graduate Questions about examples of why entropy is NOT disorder
Now I'm really confused. The wikipedia artical on the Third Law of Thermodynamics says "The third law of thermodynamics is a statistical law of nature regarding entropy: The entropy of a perfect crystal approaches zero as temperature approaches absolute zero." and the wikipedia artical...- GeorgeWBush

Graduate Questions about examples of why entropy is NOT disorder
I understand the pedagogical concern that the idea of “disorder” should be discouraged when introducing entropy to new students (e.g. http://entropysite.oxy.edu/cracked_crutch.html). But I also just read http://www.science20.com/train_thought/blog/entropy_not_disorder-75081" by Steve...- GeorgeWBush

Hieght of a volume in a cylinder on its side, with known volume.
It was provided for me and I'm trying to solve for h. It is possible that there is a different approach to the problem that solves for h directly (via caluclus) but I have not found it.- GeorgeWBush

Hieght of a volume in a cylinder on its side, with known volume.
This is my first post and is for an applied project (not for a class) but I thought this was the best place to ask for help. Homework Statement Given a cylindar on its side, with volume V, length L, and Radius R, what is height (h) of liquid. I have fomula for volume as a function of...- GeorgeWBush
