A truck with a load will take longer to stop it just happened to me today -

Yes the truck without the load will stop sooner I've tried it on bikes with two people and then one I've driven trucks with or without load and the unladen truck will take less distance to stop fact -
High School I'm wondering about air travel and the rotation of the earth
As the Earth rotates you rotate with it gravity pulls u with it even if your in a plane if u travel 560 mph at 38000 ft then you travel that distance in an hour minus drag and wind resistance ,I thought about this too as a kid it baffled me then it made sense -

Cannot see the milky way in dublin?
thank you very much all for the replies and links very helpful indeed it seems i live in the centre of a very light polluted area but if i travel west should help me ,now planning a camping trip !- gttjohn

i have been to the mountains and been to the beach lots of times looking up at the sky away from the city lights ,but i have never seen the milky way .i have seen lots of amazing pictures of it on the net from other places around the world .Then is it only possible to see it at certain times of...- gttjohn

can anyone tell me why is the universe expanding faster and faster and not slower and slower or moving at a constant speed ,if a bomb explodes everything close to it accelerates away then slows down as time moves on ,in the void of space i would think things would just carry on expanding not...- gttjohn

NASA NASA announces discovery of first Earth sized planets in the universe
if the only way to detect a planet is to observe the dimming of a star(according to the link) that means we have to be in line with the observed star, now just imagine all of the other planets that are not detected my word there could be a lot more to discover .- gttjohn
