Boron-Aluminum materials for aircraft use
Recently I discussed aircraft materials with an engineer and we discussed the now famous carbon fiber materials being used for aircraft construction. But he mentioned something I never heard about before called Boron-Aluminum which supposedly is an advanced aircraft material. The few resources...- heartofcourage

How Is the Nomenclature in 13C(alpha,n)16O Read and What Do Alpha and n Mean?
How is this nomenclature read and what is the meaning of the alpha and the n? quote below In terms of the absolute 182Hf abundance, howevever, only AGB (asymptotic giant branch) models of mass ~2 to 4 solar masses are major producers of s process 182Hf in the Galaxy, owing to the combined...- heartofcourage

Graduate Pair instability supernova pressure and temperature question
The way that I understand it is that either electron degeneracy pressure or radiative pressure prevent stars' cores collapsing from the gravity of their mass. If you create more particles pairs that have momentum as well striking atomic nuclei to give them some momentum then shouldn't this...- heartofcourage

Graduate Pair instability supernova pressure and temperature question
I read a scientific journal article that discusses pair instability supernova - I am puzzled about something discussed in the article. If the collision of atomic nuclei and energetic gamma rays produces electron and positron pairs which reduces the pressure inside a supermassive star's core -...- heartofcourage
