Vapor Density: 1.3 - What Does it Mean?
For a solution It says; VAPOR DENSITY: 1.3 Is VAPOR DENSITY the same as Density of that solution? And what is the unit of 1.3? Hope for inputs. Thanks -

Making 10,000ppm Hypochlorite Solution
The one i use is Sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl), with a stock concentration of 12%. Will you please show me how to make 10,000ppm hypochlorite from a 12% stock? It does not have density, i think. -

How to Deal with Overlapping Absorbances in Spectrophotometry?
I think it depends on what you are measuring. If you are sceptical of contaminants then you should make other tests of that sample to be sure of it. -

Making 10,000ppm Hypochlorite Solution
I have to make a solution of 10,000ppm hypochlorite, since 1ppm is like 1mg/l for a solute in water solution. Does this mean that i have to add 10,000mg hypochlorite in 1liter water? If hypochlorite is in a liquid form, should i take into account its density and from that to find the volume i... -

Chance of Cancer for Gentechnology Professionals
well, it seems like the incident of cancer increased with time, maybe you are right about that... but again when i work with EtBr etc then sometimes i forget being careful so i usually touch the gel maybe i also will end up with one of these cancers poor me!- indoubt

Chance of Cancer for Gentechnology Professionals
has any of you thought what is the chance of getting cancer when you constantly work with hazardious components like EtBr in the gentechnology field? well, it is a little scary that the chance of dying of cancer would be more increased for people in this field. even if we are careful...- indoubt

Designing degenerate PCR primers-help
hi Ian! so you mean that like standard PCR i have to design a forward and a reverse primer? and when design them i have to if necessary add the wobble in my primers and send them to a manufacturer. the manufacturer will make a combination of the different primers due to the wobble. and...- indoubt

Designing degenerate PCR primers-help
i am looking for a tool where i can designe degenerate PCR primers. by the way i have read about degenerate PCR, but find it hard to understand, so please explain these for me; in standard PCR mixture we have a forward and reverse primer for our target, but how many primers do i need in a...- indoubt

Hybridisation's temperature empirically?
hi moonbear! it is in situ hybridization and not PCR i was talked about. i mentioned about PCR bacause i just wanted to compare the annealing temp. in PCR and hybridization temp. in in situ hybridization. hope i don't confuse you!- indoubt

Hybridisation's temperature empirically?
hi moonbear! you said there is "a method to calculate a likely starting point" do you know which method? it would help a lot, i think. by the way is hybridization's temperature the same as annealling temperature in PCR? it seems like that, since in PCR the primer will anneal (hybridize)...- indoubt

EtBr in Gel Electrophoresis: To Add or Not to Add?
hi guys! thanks for you reply, but i am asking about mRNA. EtBr will stick into the double stranded DNA, but since mRNA are single stranded then how come EtBr stick into it so we can visualize it with UV light? so should i add EtBr when i run the mRNA? thanks again!- indoubt
