Why are arch bridges stronger than beam ones?
I believe pasta would be stronger in tension, but weak in compression.- jadoreparis30

Undergrad Arches or Beams: Why Arches Hold More Weight on Pasta Bridges
Why do pasta bridges made with arches or triangular peaks hold more weight than those made with a flat beam? Assume the weight is attached to the base or deck of the bridge.- jadoreparis30

Why are arch bridges stronger than beam ones?
When building a pasta bridge, why are arches or triangular peaks able to support more weight than flat beam bridges? Assume the weight would be attached to the base/deck of the bridge. I'm building a pasta bridge for my Physics class and I was curious. Thank you!- jadoreparis30
