Hi everybody!
I've hit a blank with regards to this 1 equation on a old exam paper - think I've overloaded myself a bit and just feel a bit like a airhead at the moment!
I understand the actual method and getting to the answer but it starts off with a equation which you then need to get to...
Hi there! Thanks for replying! I have one more problem - the rest I did without trouble but first I'll show you what I did (this coming week I'll have time off to properly cover the basics because it sucks wanting to do this but not being able to!).
(2x^3)^-2 (3x^4)^2

Hi there,
Please help :) out of school for years started studying again and finding it so hard to pick up the basics again! But am trying very hard!
Homework Statement
Simplify the expression and eliminate any negative exponents
Homework Equations
(2x^3)^-2 (3x^4)^2...
Got it! :) Thanks Gneil! I haven't used a scientific calculator in years lol so that explains my horrible mistake with the exponent! Thank you SO MUCH!
Then I'm definitely doing something wrong because I get the same answer over and over :( Will sit with it a while longer and see if I manage to find the problem. Thank you
The entire equation from start to finish is in Celsius - so I'm not sure how converting to K is going to help when the books final answer is in C? Theres no mention or indication of k anywhere in this equation? Could you explain in detail what you mean maybe? Or re read my question just incase...
I completed high school 9 years ago... please bare with me :)
My problem is with how they calculate the actual answer - this is from an example problem in my textbook.
Homework Statement
A calorimeter cup is made from 0.15kg of Alu and contains 0.20 kg of water. Initially the water and...
Wonderful, now I know what it's called :) (have a lot ahead of me!) - I'm doing a maths module as well, I should probably get a bit further with that before tackling the physics - scientific notation seems to be one of the next sections. Thanks so much! :)
Not sure about the 19.2?
I find the answers using the calculator - but how to write that answer in the terms of for example (4.6 x 10^7) is confusing...
I sort of get how it could get to there but further on in the book there are answers such as 5.6 10^-2 (for these I also get a normal...
Hi guys!
I think I need to explain myself before I ask for the advice :) I'm 27 (so been in grade 12 ages ago) - I didn't have science, I wrote it years later. Now I'm enrolled for a Bsc degree in the hope of getting into medical school (very tough in South Africa). I'm putting a lot of time...
