MarkFL and Devono, I really am so thankful for your patience in helping me out with my basic math problems.
Based on how I responded to all of your suggestions, what do you think are the topics that I need to review to be able to solve this type of math problem? I really want to learn more in...
Somehow I got the point but I think I need to review factoring for that.
Is this correct?
1-1/20

So those are the sides we're talking about. Thanks for always making things easier for me to digest. (Headbang)
To be honest, I can't follow your instructions anymore. Sorry to bother you guys but I think I already forgot the basics. (Angry)
Here's my idea (and please tell me if I'm getting anywhere with this).
I will start by subtracting 1/4 - 1/5 - 50/1.
My solution so far:
3/8 = 9/24 and 1/3 = 8/24
9/24 - 8/24 = 1/24
But my book says a totally different thing which confuses me:
3/8 x 1/3 = 1/8.3/8 - 1/8 = 2/8 =1/4
Please help!
Hmmmm... 1 additional post on each of the shorter sides and 3 additional post on each of the longer sides?
So it will be a total of 12 posts including the 4 corner posts. Is that correct?
A fence is to be on posts 8 meters apart around a rectangular lot that measures 40 meters long and 16 meters wide. How many posts are needed, including the ones placed at each
corner, to fence the entire lot?
Re: Need EXPLANATION on how to solve this one. Thanks!
Is it 2/3? I tried to draw a figure to be able to visualize it (and it takes much time). I don't know other ways to solve it.
