How to Place Deresonating Baffles in a Shell and Tube Heat Exchanger?
Thanks for the reply. Yes, As you said this should be calculated since the percentages of its content varies. However I was expecting some typical values for a design. Thanks again.- jeewana

How to Place Deresonating Baffles in a Shell and Tube Heat Exchanger?
Can anyone help me to find the the thermal properties (Density,Heat capacity, viscosity, thermal conductivity) of WHITE LIQUOR used in pulp industry? [WHITE LIQUOR is a mixture of NaOH,Na2S,Na2CO3.]- jeewana

Pressure Vessel Design: Understanding MAWP & Design Pressure
Thanks for the reply. In fact I shall start another thread as you said. Deresonating baffle is used to avoid flow induced vibration(acoustic). Thermal design is being done as per TEMA. According to my understanding it is a longitudinal baffle which is parallel to flow.- jeewana

Pressure Vessel Design: Understanding MAWP & Design Pressure
Hi Thank you for the reply. In fact I don't want to go that deep. Even a thumb rule will do. Any way I will look into this, Thank you again- jeewana

Pressure Vessel Design: Understanding MAWP & Design Pressure
Does anyone know how to estimate the tube sheet thickness for SQUARE TYPE tube sheets ?(like in fin tube Air coolers). Where can i find those calculations? as i know TEMA /ASME give only for circular types.- jeewana

Pressure Vessel Design: Understanding MAWP & Design Pressure
======== HI thank you so much for the comprehensive reply. My understanding is, with basics we can prove the equation PR/S=t However 0.6p or 0.4p has been added to the denominator of this equation due to some reason. Obsequiously now this is a semi empirical equation. As the...- jeewana

Pressure Vessel Design: Understanding MAWP & Design Pressure
hi Can anyone explain the following. when we say t = PR /(SE + 0.4P), the term 0.4P is a correction factor for the stress non linearity with the vessel thickness. Is that so? Since S = Sy/1.5 , all the vessels we design have the same factor of safety which is 1.5. Please correct me if...- jeewana
