Why is This Reaction Endothermic?
If the products increase when the temperature is increased, then the reaction has to be endothermic. The energy could then be looked at as a reactant and when you increase the reactants, the system has to shift to making more product to compensate- therefore the system would create more CO at...- Jen1114

How do I rank these leaving groups?
I believe that the most effective leaving group is going to be the weakest base. So in this case the best way to figure it out would be to look at a table of pka values and rank them in order of which pka values are the lowest.- Jen1114

Oxidation and specific heat capacity
I believe that In the case of iron and rust, the mass would change because the oxidation of iron includes the formation of iron oxides which have more mass than iron by itself. Because iron oxides also have different specific heat capacities, I would assume that would change as well. In both...- Jen1114

What are the guidelines for participating in Physics Forums?
Hi, I'm Jen! I love chemistry, biology, and calculus and have no idea how this website works but I am excited to try and learn and help/connect with people who are just as engaged in learning as I am! Hope everyone has had a great weekend! :)- Jen1114
