Polygons: Areas Homework Help & Hints
Homework Statement (I have attached the problem to this post as a file) Homework Equations In class we learned other fomulas for the area of a triangle using the SAS case, ASA and SSS (Heron's). The Attempt at a Solution I am honestly so confused with this one. I have a bunch of random...- Jet1045

Undergrad Proving A = B in Linear Algebra using (A-B)D = 0 and Inverses
OH GOT IT! k i didn't realize you could just multiply both sides of the equation by D^-1. Thanks so much :)- Jet1045

Undergrad Proving A = B in Linear Algebra using (A-B)D = 0 and Inverses
First off I'm going to start by saying, that i hate my algebra class. I don't know if its the teacher or the material, but i find this stuff so hard ! With calc i get most of it but just some hard questions i need to ask on here... with algebra i get like NONE of the theory/proofs behind it...- Jet1045

Indeterminate Limits (L'Hopitals Rule)
Homework Statement Hey Everyone , i have 4 L'Hopital's rule problems that i am totally stuck on, and hints would be greatly appreciated. Ill just put all 4 here, and any help would be great. 1. lim x->a+ (cos(x)ln(x-a)) / ln(e^x - e^a) Okay, so with this one i determined that it has...- Jet1045

Rotational Volume - spherical cap, solids, and napkin ring problems
For the first and third example i have no clue. I am doing this same stuff in class now to, and find those kind of problems so difficult. Second one, i believe you would go: using the cylindrical shell method 2pi (integral from 0 to 4 of x(sinx) dx thats just what i think, i could be off!- Jet1045

Linear Algebra - Matrix Equations
Oh.. k yeah we haven't done the determinant yet so ill do the basic way. So the three linear equations with the three variables would be the 3 rows in my augmented matrix correct? well like those would be the coefficients of the vairables. When you say solve them, do you mean solve each row as...- Jet1045

Linear Algebra - Matrix Equations
Oh wow, i totally over thought this one. Thanks so much. He gives these practice questions, then puts up the answer keys with ow many marks they'd be out of, and usually his qustions are worth like 10-20 marks, so i assumed there'd be more work to it. I may as well ask another question here...- Jet1045

Linear Algebra - Matrix Equations
Ohhh k, that makes sense. But i don't get how to prove it though? i just say that since A(u) = v and A(2u) = 2v , Ax = 2v has a solution- Jet1045

Linear Algebra - Matrix Equations
ahhh! my midterm is this friday and I am trying to do some practice now, and I am not getting anything :( A(2u) = 2v right? So when a Ax = 2v, does that mean x is 2u?- Jet1045

Linear Algebra - Matrix Equations
Homework Statement Let A be a matrix of size 3x3. Let u and v be vectors in R3, such that Au = v. Prove that the matrix equation Ax=2v has a solution. Homework Equations The Attempt at a Solution Alright, so this is for an intro linear algebra course, so the solution shouldn't be too...- Jet1045

Trigonometric Integral: Evaluating sin2x/(1+(cos2x)^2)
How did i not see that...hhaha THANKS! OK! SO, i set: u = 1 + (cos2x)^2 du = -4(cos2x)(sin2x) dx dx = du / -4(cos2x)(sin2x) when i insert this though, i don't seem to get far. is my derivative of 1+(cos2x)^2 correct?- Jet1045

Trigonometric Integral: Evaluating sin2x/(1+(cos2x)^2)
Homework Statement The question asks me to evaluate the indefinite integral: sin2x/(1+(cos2x)^2) The (cos2x)^2 is read cos squared 2x, i just don't know how to put the squared before the 2x and not have it look confusing ! Homework Equations The Attempt at a Solution To be...- Jet1045
