Synthesis of 2-butyne from 2-butene
Homework Statement I'm having a hard time deciding exactly what the mechanism would be for CH3CH=CHCH3→CH3C\equivCCH3 Homework Equations The Attempt at a Solution My professor only explained half of the mechanism quickly assuming the rest would be obvious, so I know that it will...- jfeyen

How Do You Calculate the Acceleration and Direction of a Flea in a Breeze?
I guess I'm just having problems figuring out how to deconstruct this then. I think I was close to having everything snap into place in my mind, but it's gone. Is this the right idea? netFy= Fflea-w= may... ay= 10.2m/s2? and netFx= Fbreeze= max... ax= .83m/s2?- jfeyen

How Do You Calculate the Acceleration and Direction of a Flea in a Breeze?
Homework Statement A flea jumps by exerting a force of 1.20 X 10-5 N straight down on the ground. A breeze blowing on the flea parallel to the ground exerts a force of 0.500 X 10-6 N on the flea. Find the direction and magnitude of the acceleration of the flea if its mass is 6.00 X 10-7 kg...- jfeyen

Problem finding height of a cliff
I'm really not sure what the 3.27m means except that the height of the cliff will be 3.27m less than the total free-fall of the rock from it's maximum height. Not sure how to get from point A to point B though. I thought the velocity at the bottom of the fall would be zero due to the fact that...- jfeyen

Problem finding height of a cliff
Homework Statement Calculate the height of a cliff if it takes 2.35 s for a rock to hit the ground when it is thrown straight up from the cliff with an initial velocity of 8.00 m/s Homework Equations acceleration of gravity: 9.80 m/s2 ; not sure if I need to use -9.8 instead. the...- jfeyen
