Graduate Terahertz radiation converted into heat
Of course ii depends on the amount of light reflected. However not all of the absorbed radiation will be converted into heat. It is this % of absorbed energy converted into heat I am after.- jgrant333

Graduate Terahertz radiation converted into heat
Hello all. Does anyone know what percentage of THz radiation is converted into heat energy? I'm thinking of the simple case where a beam of Thz radiation is incident upon some sort of detector element. The THz radiation can either be converted into kinetic energy (vibration of the...- jgrant333

Resistance of a Circular resistor
Hello all. I'm trying to calculate the resistance of a circular resistor with the following specifications: Doped Silicon with a carrier concentration of 1.6x1025 m-3 (sheet resistance ~ 0.5 ohms/square) Radius = 200 microns thickness = 5 microns. I know the general formula for...- jgrant333

Graduate Interaction of THz radiation with matter
Thank you for your response. I take your point about differentiating between Thz waves and other electromagnetic radiation. However I plan on using a dedicated Thz radiation source along with suitable filters so that the majority of the EM radiation striking my detector is Thz. I actually...- jgrant333

Graduate Interaction of THz radiation with matter
hello. I'm studying a project on Thz radiation and have to establish what material would make a good THz detector. To this end I've tried to find equations linking the aborption of THz radiation in matter and how the absorption varies with wavelength (one of the things I'd like to...- jgrant333
