Hi Mathwonk. I'm looking to pick up a book in Algebra to work through over the summer. I took a course last fall where we used "Contemporary Abstract Algebra" by Gallian, so I was curious if you could recommend a good text to follow up. Thanks in advance. -kentt

My guess is Algebra would be much easier to learn on your own. But I struggled a lot more in Analysis then Algebra so that could just be my bias.
