Graduate Self-Learning Relativity: 4-Dot Product & qE.u Equation?
I am studying relativity by myself. There is one problem in the book which says that the 4-dot product of the Minkowski force and proper velocity is zero. But again it say that qE.u = change in energy over time. Is there a contradiction? If not, Am I missing something important. here q is...- kakolukia786

Graduate How does Maxwell equation suggest that the speed of light is the same
Hi guys, I am reading griffiths electrodynamics. I have a question. How does Maxwell equation suggest that the speed of light is same for all observer? I know Maxwell's equation gives a value of C. How can we infer that it is same for all observer. Special relativity just assumes that the...- kakolukia786

Discrete Fourier Transform question
Hi, I am learning Fourier transformation by my own. I am reading a book "Fourier Transformation" by R. Bracewell. In chapter 11, in examples of discrete Fourier transforms, it gives for N =2, {1 0} transforms to 1/2{1 1}. I can do this in MATLAB but I can't figure it out how to do it by hand...- kakolukia786

Finding the fourier series coefficients for cos(pi)x for unit periods
Hi all, How do I compute the Fourier series coefficients for unit periods for cos(pi)x, the interval is from -1/2 to 1/2. I know the formula but I am getting a wrong answer ?- kakolukia786

What Frequency Appears as 1 Hz When Sampled at 0.2 Seconds Due to Aliasing?
Hi. I have been given a plot for 1 Hz, sampled at 0.2 sec. And, 4 Hz and 11 Hz has also been plotted. So, from the plot, I can see that its really hard to distinguish between the signals after digitalization. My question is how do I find the next higher frequency which, when sampled at 0.2 secs...- kakolukia786
