How to ergonomically look at book while programming?
I agree with a user that said to get dual monitors and just open the book in one of them. This is useful specially with programming books.. Getting a second-monitor is a great use of one's money.- Kidiz

Discovering A^2: Attachment with Question and Solution Included
The ##X## is most likely an argument of the function ##\sin##, that is, it should be inside the brackets. Why are you studying quantum mechanics without doing calculus first? You should definitely study calculus before. This is the simplest math you'll encounter. But answering your question...- Kidiz

Infinite well potential - changed bottom
I'm imagining something like this: http://sketchtoy.com/64403013 I said that the particle couldn't be in C, only in A. But now that I think about it, I don't see why it could not be in C.- Kidiz

Infinite well potential - changed bottom
For epsilon = 0, we'd have no potential inside the box, so the solution would be ##\Psi _ n = \sqrt{2/b} \sin {\dfrac{n \pi x}{b}}##. I say that it's not the same because there's a space (below the potential line) in which the particle can not be. Is it the same though?- Kidiz

Infinite well potential - changed bottom
Homework Statement The bottom of an infinite well is changed to have the shape $$V(x) = \epsilon \sin {\dfrac{\pi x}{b}}, 0 \le x \le b$$ Calculate the energy shifts for all the excited states to first order in ##\epsilon##. Note that the well originally had ##V(x) = 0## for ##0 \le x \le...- Kidiz

Graduate Question regarding time independent perturbation theory
Let's say we've a system which can be described by the Hamiltonian: $$H_0 = \dfrac{p^2}{2m} + V(x)$$ Now suppose we introduce a perturbation given by: $$H_1 = \lambda x^2$$ Our total hamiltonian: $$H = H_0 + H_1 = \dfrac{p^2}{2m} + V(x) + \lambda x^2 $$ Normally, the perturbation doesn't...- Kidiz

Could Bitcoin Be the Future of Premium Account Payments?
I'm not sure what you mean but bitcoin has been growing quite a lot, as a payment option. More and more businesses are accepting bitcoin. Thanks for mocking the suggestion though, I suppose.- Kidiz

Could Bitcoin Be the Future of Premium Account Payments?
How does one use a credit card without paypal? Will that work in countries where paypal is not supported? One other reason to use bitcoin: No transaction fees. Premium membership could either be cheaper or PF gets more money, when someone pays with bitcoin. And then there's also the whole...- Kidiz

Could Bitcoin Be the Future of Premium Account Payments?
Hello there, This forum seems to be quite interesting and I'm glad I found it. I also noticed that there is a premium option, which currently accepts paypal as a payment option. Might I suggest bitcoin as an alternative to paypal? There might be a lot of people who cannot use paypal but would...- Kidiz
