A way to use desktop hd for laptop?

I know that an external HD is basically a typical (internal) HD inside a case with a firewire or USB adapter...if you could get a hold of a dead external HD, you might be able to make use of firewire or USB. just a thought.

Is Cold Fusion Possible with Palladium and Heavy Water?

how about cold fusion? I know it's got avid supporters as well as those who say it's total B.S. last I heard, it had something to do with the way Palladium acts in hard water... I'm going to go look some of that up. I want input! anyway, i hear it's possible. edit: thanks...didn't even notice...

Creating a Working Prototype of Armor to Move with You

oh...haven't looked here in a while. they'd deal with it like they do in a spacesuit. AND the point is to make it faster then a normal human, and more heavily armored. think...amplifying strength, speed, and durability. we don't have a powersource we could mount on it that would drive it, at...

Is It Time for a Moon or Mars Mission?

You know, off-world colonization isn't totally out of the question...as y'all might think via the laws of physics. 1:cryogenics. If we successfully froze a population of about 100,000, I'd say colonization would be much closer to our grasp. 2: identifying a 'second Earth' this could be done...

Depleted Uranium: Army Use & Radioactivity Risk

yeah...world peace would be nice. I agree. Nice, however, is a whole different ballgame then realistic. By the way, no one fusses about our soldiers handing out cigarettes to the residents of warzones, or the fact that we use x-rays, MRI's, or CAT scans in medicine, or the radiation emitted by...

Blended Metal Bullets: A New Era for US Military?

Hmm...our U.S. Military complains that the 5.56 mm bullet doesn't contain the stopping power that certain situations call for, sometimes. With that on the back burner, take a look at new blended-metal technology from LeMas Ltd. This ammunition is (claimed) to be able to punch through hardened...

Depleted Uranium: Army Use & Radioactivity Risk

And I thought he'd given up and gone home... Seriously. Everyone absorbs carcinogenic material daily. Who really cares if DU is too? The point is that it's not really adding any discernable risk. Hell, our soldiers probably are in more danger from the cigarettes they smoke and the secondhand...

Creating a Working Prototype of Armor to Move with You

I'd have gone beforehand, first off, and otherwise, i'd have a little door that opened over my bum so i could keep the suit clean. on a more serious note... supposing we can't make a form-fitting battle suit, how small do you guys think it's possible to get a humanoid tank/mobile armor unit...

Creating a Working Prototype of Armor to Move with You

umm...no way in hell will burning poo create enough power to move a heavy suit of armor, even if it wasn't yucky.

Depleted Uranium: Army Use & Radioactivity Risk

err... right. quit your jibberjabber. :) anyway, I see the work of one scientist (who may have gulf war syndrome) Which may or may not be related to DU, and may be related to quite a few other things as well, verses the analysis of many tests and studies run by the DoD which show, among other...

Depleted Uranium: Army Use & Radioactivity Risk

ooh. got another one. check out the risk of leukemia from inhaling 1 g of DU. 1 in 230,000. http://www.antenna.nl/wise/uranium/dbkcr.html

Depleted Uranium: Army Use & Radioactivity Risk

ok. no more politics. got it. however, I'm going to direct you to the page on the military's gulf war site that tells you all about DU and calmly tries to tell you that you're hyping the living crap out of it. Radiation hazard? hardly. Heavy metal? yeah, but how big is the likelihood of...

Depleted Uranium: Army Use & Radioactivity Risk

A: I'm going to have to disagree with your 'military money making machine' theory, for a couple Big Reasons. -Congress appropriates funds to the military, not the Joint Chiefs or any part of military beaurocracy. -The mentality of a soldier isn't hell bent on making money. It's hell bent on...

Could Magnetic Circulation Be the Key to Propelling Spacecraft?

just a quick note... on your site, you might want to check some of the links to your formula images. they don't load. (I think I was looking through the one where you're discussing the way electrons can 'tunnel') anyway, just to let you know.

Depleted Uranium: Army Use & Radioactivity Risk

Ok... having checked the ever growing thread again... The quote about the U.S. military being incompetant and careless was originally a bit of (childish) sarcasm in response to what seems to be the attitude I see towards them. I'm quite aware that this isn't a political forum, but it's not only...
