Solve MATLAB fsolve Equation: x-(r/4)*sin(pi*x)=0
My new attempt... i=1; new_x=[]; newnewx=[]; for r=0.5:0.01:4; new_x(i)=fsolve(@myfun,[0 r]); newnewx(i)=((r*pi)/4)*cos(pi*new_x(i)); i=i+1; end r=0.5:0.01:4; plot(r,newnewx) where the myfun is: function F=myfun(x) x=x(1); r=x(2); F(1)=x-((r/4)*sin(pi*x));- krnhseya

Solve MATLAB fsolve Equation: x-(r/4)*sin(pi*x)=0
I think I posted in a wrong forum...I wasn't sure which category I was supposed to post this under but here it goes... 1. Homework Statement Find x where r varies from 0 to 4. 2. Homework Equations x-(r/4)*sin(pi*x)=0 3. The Attempt at a Solution The problem that I ran into...- krnhseya

How to Integrate the Equation (b1-(b1*x/L)+(b2*x/L))^2 with Respect to x?
Homework Statement Integrate Homework Equations integrating following equation about dx: (b1-(b1*x/L)+(b2*x/L))^2 The Attempt at a Solution I expanded all terms than integrated. I used integration by part to get it down to this but I am curious to see if there's better way to...- krnhseya

Fluid Force Direction on Airfoil: Compressor vs. Turbine Design
It's exactly the same except the pressure side and suction side reversed. I'd guess that the z direction has to change but then I am not so sure that first case is even right.- krnhseya

Find Tension in Rope: 45deg, No Moments @A
Homework Statement Find the tension of the rope. Theta is 45 degrees and A cannot support any moments. Homework Equations Drag=0.5*Cd*(U^2)*A*rho The Attempt at a Solution While everything is known, I am unsure of the setup. I initially thought: T*(cos(45deg))=Drag But it doesn't work if...- krnhseya

MATLAB Integrating and Differentiating Polynomials in MATLAB
Additional question, When you integrate polynomials, you get the constant, which can be identified based on initial condition. If you know the value for this constant, how do you specify it in MATLAB? Thanks- krnhseya

MATLAB Integrating and Differentiating Polynomials in MATLAB
Thank you. I've looked in help, been to mathworks, etc. I am guessing the derivative should be done as follows for y=5x+6: a=[5 6]; z=polyder(a) And I do understand it output coefficients in order from the lowest power to the highest. Thank you!- krnhseya

MATLAB Integrating and Differentiating Polynomials in MATLAB
Hello, First of all, I am not trying to "spam" subforums. I found out that my thread shouldn't be posted under homework. Anyways, here it is. Integration Let say there's a polynomial, 5x+6 and you want to integrate from 0 to 3 respect to x, how do you input in MATLAB? (I guess you can't...- krnhseya
