What is the Correct Way to Determine Percentages from Ratios?

Ok let me make it clear coz you seem to have made my question a rocket science . The question again; the report(or ratio) of clay and limestone is 1 : 3 ,find the percentage of clay and limestone ? ok ?

What is the Correct Way to Determine Percentages from Ratios?

Homework Statement I desperately need to know something which I consider basic but yet I get different answers all the time for example ratio A:G=1:3 or A:G=1:2 or A:G=1:4 some students are telling me that the ratios should be divided with one another like 1/3=0.33 to get the...

Solving for Probability using Bayes Theorem with 5 Boxes and Black Balls

Well I think I got it the idea just came out of nowhere ph1,ph2,ph3 have their number 2/5 ,2/5 ,1/5 because when looking at the exercise it clearly says 2 boxes ,2 boxes and then finally says 1 box ,while ph1(A) have their numbers acquired from black balls ,at least that's how i understand it...

Solving for Probability using Bayes Theorem with 5 Boxes and Black Balls

@vela then why do you think p(h2) is 2/5 ? Isn't there 1 white in the second box ? Same goes for H3 as its written 4 whites and p(h3) is showing 1/5

Solving for Probability using Bayes Theorem with 5 Boxes and Black Balls

Homework Statement bayes theorem we got 5 boxes with white and black balls ,2 boxes have 2 white balls and 3 black(H1), 2 boxes have 1 white and 4 black(H2) , 1 box has 4 whites and 1black(H3) .From a random extraction the ball turned out to be black find probability that the extracted ball...

Why Is Calculating Card Probabilities Confusing?

Homework Statement From 52 cards we draw one .Whats the probability that the drawn card is divisible by 4 Now : in my notebook its 12/52=3/13 .But shouldn't it be 13/52 ? BECAUSE clearly if we multiply 13 *4=52 Same problem : Whats the probability that of 52 cards I draw one that is...

    Propability: Somebodys mistake

    Sorry , the way it should be done is : ph1(A)=3/5, ph2(A)=4/5 ,ph3(A)=1/5 p(h1)=2/5 2 white balls ,ph1(A)= 3/5, 3 white balls all boxes equal 5 so...

Find the probability of a defective item in a small sample

It should be about 50% chance of one consisting non defective and the other being defective I THINK in practice assume we have 50 balls 25 good and 25 bad ,we draw 2 balls and it should be G1/2 * B1/2 ?

Find the probability of a defective item in a small sample

    permutation C25(1) * C28(1)/ C53(2) = 700/(2756/2) =1400/2756 But still need explenation though.
