I have some community service experience but not very long in duration and is not related to my graduate direction (eg. I was tutoring Chinese for a semester). Should I still include it?

I am applying to PhD programs and CV is required (of course) but do I also need a covering letter?

Are All symmetric matrices with real number entires Hermitian? What about the other way around-are all Hermitian matrices symmetric?

How detailed should the research experience be? For example, are things like "I developed a C algorithm to help the process of XXX?" worth mentioning? Or should this go to the Curriculum Vitae? Thank you!:woot:

Thank you for the advice again Dr. Courtney! The narrative style looks more appealing to the readers in my opinion because I think it will naturally explain why I did C and D things after I did A and B.

Great advice. I am finishing my undergraduate and I did some research already and am currently doing one. If already have the details of my research experiences in the CV, what else could I say about these experiences in the PS? Thank you!:smile:

This summer I did some research and had positive results but my part contributed to a small portion of the big grant. My PI told me we could submit to some "side" journals to get publications but I am not sure if this is necessary because the admission committees will see my poster I created...
