Edit - Solved it. LaTeX is a pain to get used to, but once you do, it's worth it!

LaTeX Starting Writing 4.5in from Top of Page

Yeah, I need it on only one page. I used the command \vspace*{3.1in}, which semi-works. 4.5 inches is more like 6 inches, but 3.1 inches works out to 4.5 inches. I believe this might be because of the header for the document type I'm using, but I don't really feel like figuring it out...

LaTeX Starting Writing 4.5in from Top of Page

Hey guys, I have been searching for an answer to this question for quite some time and I have found nothing. This should be pretty simple, yet for some frustrating reason, I can not get it to work. I want to start some writing 4.5 inches from the top of the page. I am doing...

    How fast are microcontrollers?

As I am sure you know, that is not a microcontroller (uC - u for micro, C for Controller) - it's an accelerometer. As for it's output ability:

What Are the Best E-Books for Engineering and Physics This Summer?

Just get easier (I.E. beginner) eBooks, lol. You are basically trying to jump from point A to point Z. That's what people are telling you. You aren't going to learn ANYTHING from ANY of the books you originally posted.

Comparing data sets of different sizes

A few questions: Are the positions in the x arrays relevant? You can perhaps zero-pad the smaller array to make it the same size of the larger one. This is a tricky question to answer because it is certainly do-able, but we'd need to know more about the data and if the order and positioning...

Can You Balance a Ph.D. Program with Family and Kids?

Is there any reason why you can't wait a few years after you're married and graduated to have children? I don't see being married and working on a PhD at the same time being too terrible, but throwing children into the mix will be quite tough. Also, is there any help to be had from the Army...

Electronics graduate , what field should I chose for MS (in US) ? Help.

Having a publication will have an extremely positive impact on your chances for admission to graduate school. It will show that you are able to conduct research and are able to write about it. It's not like you're locked into that field forever - especially since you're young and still have...

Programs Is having to borrow 40k $ in student loans a good deal for a MEng degree

So the $40k would cover both undergraduate and graduate school? Like a two-in-one program? $40k for both degrees is not bad at all. As for graduating with $80-$90k in debt being normal, I find that hard to believe with respect to engineering and science students. I did not have to pay for...

What are the intellectually MOST rigorous jobs?

... all of that IS high school work. I was doing most of that in high school as well (calculus and programming). Not one thing you mentioned is something a mathematician, engineer, or physicist with an MS or PhD would be doing in industry for a company. They might use those tools and...

Fortran Learn Fortran Programming: Compaq Visual Fortran 6 Options

Hey Jayson, I didn't see that you replied. For the first picture, like pezze said, you should choose the Fortran console application. This will allow you to create a project and run the code from the command line/console. The tab in the second picture includes options for creating a...

Can You Pursue a Career in Astrophysics at NASA?

Yeah, I understand what you're saying, but I sort of packaged all of that into my "yes, astrophysicists can work for NASA" answer. Seeing as how the OP is only in 8th grade, I didn't think it was necessary to go into that much detail. Good points, though.

I hate computers job can i be an Electrical Engineer

You won't get very far in engineering, physics, or math without tolerating computer work. Different disciplines within each of those fields require different amounts of programming, but any career is going to require you to at least use software.
