    Question about system overshoot

I want to get the maximum overshoot for a system whose steady state output is zero (the output is the deviation from an equilibrium point), substituting in the maximum overshoot formula |Ymax-Ys.s|/Ys.s will yield an infinity, so how to do it? thanks

    Question about single tone signals

what is the bandwidth of single tone signals? taking the F.T. for a cosine signal gives a delta at the signal's frequency, so does it mean that its bandwidth is zero since it is occupying only a single freq. in the FD.

    Solve Difficult Equation: x = 4

Calculators use Newton's method to solve equations (including this type of equations of course) maybe that's the only analytic way to solve it, but i don't know how to use this method

    Solve Difficult Equation: x = 4

    lol yeah i guess...thanks anyway.

    Solve Difficult Equation: x = 4

hey all, a friend gave me this equation and required that i solve it: http://www.geocities.com/mazen_zone/Untitled.jpg I could only solve it graphically and the answer was (x = 4), so i wonder if there is an algebraic solution for it ?

Hey, i want to know the name and function of this component (in attachments)? thanks in advance...

Question about the expansion of the universe

well, perhaps i understood this wrong (the 3mm part), but i read a lot that a shift in the Earth path will cause devastation, here's a video for ex. of Richard Dawkins speaks about it:

Question about the expansion of the universe

actually -according to my info- the thickness of the "safe" path of the Earth is approximately equal to the Earth diameter, that's why the whole planet is safe during day and night, but a small shift from this path will get the Earth to the "non-safe zone" which will cause severe damage,

Question about the expansion of the universe

i don't know, but i heard this info from lots of sources including some Atheist scientists like Richard Dawkins...

Question about the expansion of the universe

yes that's what i meant, 3 millimeters, hope this is not wrong too :D thanks for the reply BTW...

Question about the expansion of the universe

hey, according to the big bang theory the universe is expanding, thus stars and planets are getting away from each other, but as i know the distance between the Earth and the sun is just the suitable distance to keep us alive, and that if the orbit of the Earth increased by 3mm all the water on...

    About the Earth's orbital velocity

i want to know if the Earth change its orbital velocity along the day? as i heard that due to its elliptical shape the distance between the Earth and the sun slightly change during the day (increase then decrease again) ,so the orbital velocity also has to change to compensate this change in...

Question on Gauss law & charged disks

yeah i know coulombs law can calculate the electric flux at any point, i meant i can't use it to derive a general formula to calculate the electric flux density at any point near the disk like Gauss law, but i have to remake the calculations at every point that i want the flux at... correct...

Question on Gauss law & charged disks

hey everyone... i want to know why can't we use Gauss law to calculate the electric flux density of a charged disk? and how to calculate it "everywhere"? as coulomb's law calculates it at a certain point only...
