    The square root was a typo! I wasn't using it in my calculations. Figured it out I'm pretty sure. I wasn't adding the PE's. It should be the sum of the potential energy when crossing the moons orbit and the potential energy just before is reaches the Earth's surface (using radius of the earth)...
