Simulation of a GSHP system in Simulink
Thanks for your reply. I would like to make a simulation where you can input required heating loads and heat pump type, and the simulation calculates the necessary borehole depth. I would also like to investigate horizontal ground loop heat exchangers as well f I can figure out a way of doing...- middlj

Simulation of a GSHP system in Simulink
Hello kind people of PF, I'm working on a project and attempting to simulate a ground source heat pump system in simulink. I have no experience what so ever with MATLAB or simulink, which isn't helping. Does anybody here have any experience of modelling such systems in this environment...- middlj

Choosing Between MEng and MSc: Factors to Consider for Your Graduate Studies
I think it makes little difference to employers if that's what you're concerned about. An MSc may be beneficial if the area it is in is related to the job you are applying for. The fee's dilema must be a pain, I couldn't advise you either way. Maybe, I would say to do the MEng unless you find...- middlj

Quick Question Regarding the cost of Nuclear Reprocessing
I personally advocate reprocessing, however I was wondering why UK and European companies do it even though it is admittedly not cost-effective. Am I mistaken in believing that its not cost effective or do these companies reprocess for other reasons? Like a concern over the depletion of...- middlj

Difference between Tensile Force and Tension
Tension is normally talked of in terms of stress. Tensile force is, well, a force. If you hang a 10N weight on the end of a metal bar, you've applied a 10N tensile force but the stress depends on the cross sectional area of the bar.- middlj

Do Kalms Herbal Remedies Work for Stress and Irritability?
Hi there, I've been interested in this medicine for stress and irritability however I'm always sceptical about herbal remedies. Does anybody have any input as to whether there is any reason to believe these actually work? Thanks- middlj

Is Darkness Really the Opposite of Light?
The question doesn't make sense to me unles you take "light" as an adjective. So the only two answers it could be is dark or heavy. I don't think you can have an opposite of an object?- middlj

Has the Modern World Put an End to Human Evolution?
Me and a friend were talking in the pub the other day about evolution, and how some people hold the view that, because of modern engineering and medicine, human evolution by the process of natural selection has stopped. What do you think? Has evolution stopped? If not, how are "good" or "bad"...- middlj

Undergrad Molecules, atoms, quarks, and so on
But as a thought experiment it is just that, thought. So the length of the strip will be exactly pi. However, in the real world the length won't be pi, as the strip will be made up of a finite number of particles, which, at some point, become non divisible. This isn't really a thought...- middlj
