What is the specific bacteria that helps rabbits digest cellulose?
Thanks everyone so much! I'm doing it for a high school project... There's no way back now since I have 1 week left. I gave up the idea of isolating the bacteria (we only have very simple equipments). Now I am just trying to grow the bacteria from the feces now (all of them, not only the...- MonsieurWise

What is the specific bacteria that helps rabbits digest cellulose?
Hi, I'm doing a high school project, and I'll need a lot of help... I'm trying to figure out what bacteria in the rabbit's digestive system that helps the rabbit to digest cellulose. I've searched, but wikipedia or any other website just say "good bacteria". Could someone give me the exact...- MonsieurWise

Can Cellulase Proteins Be Integrated into Human Gut Bacteria for Digestion?
I have one more question...I bought the cellulase (expensive!) and I'm trying to break down the cellulose outside the body. Several things I want to ask: Will cellulases get used up in the body? If it does, will cellulases be used up in the outside environment? Will they just change their...- MonsieurWise

Can Cellulase Proteins Be Integrated into Human Gut Bacteria for Digestion?
Wow O.o. I never thought it would be so complicated... I initially thought that transferring the genes would be almost like the "glowing bacteria" experiment my friend is doing... Thank you so much for the info O.o. It helps a lot! Thanks again ^^.- MonsieurWise

Can Cellulase Proteins Be Integrated into Human Gut Bacteria for Digestion?
Hi, I'm currently planning on a project for my school's science fair. I was thinking about the cellulase proteins topic, because I thought it would be interesting if humans can digest cellulose just like herbivores... I found out that breaking down cellulose requires many steps, thus demands...- MonsieurWise

Calculating Earthquake Force with Pendulum Measurements
Thank you very much! I think I have no clue...Actually he's asking me to help a 9th grade student with his project today (in the last minute...great...). I've never seen the actual thing. But I think I'm measuring, as you say, horizontal earthquake. Our lab lost the accelerometer... I would say...- MonsieurWise

Calculating Earthquake Force with Pendulum Measurements
I'm trying to do an experiment about earthquake... I used a pendulum and an "angle meter" (is that what it's called?) to measure the maximum angular displacement of the ball, thus define the strength of the earthquake. I measured the height the ball goes (enable me to find potential energy), and...- MonsieurWise

Understanding Entropy and Free Energy in Chemical Reactions
Oh...never mind. It seems like the reaction just like the Delta G, not G, to be negative to be spontaneous, right? Now The only thing I don't get is: Since: Gtotal = Greactant + Gproduct when Greactant decrease, Gproduct increase, so how can it say at equilibrium, "the system has reached...- MonsieurWise

Understanding Entropy and Free Energy in Chemical Reactions
I'm having trouble understanding why in a reaction, when the free energy G of the product equal the free energy G of the reactant, the reaction is at equilibrium. Here, as my book say, the system has reached its minimum free energy. I don't really get why... Could someone explain to me...? Thanks!- MonsieurWise
