Homework Statement
f(x,y,z) = g(√(x^2 + y^2 + z^2))
g(t) = t-5
evaluate ∯ f(x,y,z)ds
where S is sphere x^2 + y^2 + z^2 = 9
Homework Equations
The Attempt at a Solution
i don't know how to go about it. can someone help me with this, how to approach this from start to end...
Homework Statement
calculate net outward flux of vector field F(x,y,z)=3xy^2 i +xcosz j +z^3k, across surface solid bounded by cylinder y^2 +z^2 =1
planes x=-1, x=2
Homework Equations
The Attempt at a Solution
my attempt was triple integral of divF=> 3*triple integral r^3
ended...
I= [∫(0 to 1) ∫(0 to 2z) ∫(z to 1) dx dy dz] + [ ∫(0 to 1) ∫(2z to 1+z) ∫(y-z to 1) dx dy dz]
1) evaluate
2) use order dy dx dz, along with the new bounds
my attempt for 1) got me an answer of -7/6
for part 2) I'm having trouble getting the correct bounds. the bounds from my attempt...
