Graduate Why does quantum entanglement not allow ftl communication
If I understand correctly, then quantum entanglement is explained by the simple fact that two particles behave the same way after being separated. Take Machine A and B, each compute numbers from 1 to 10 and are synchonized. Separate the machines and get the output at a given moment in time. We...- N468989

Time: A Scientific Exploration
When we can't do something in math we just assume something, let's take division by zero, square root of minus 1. Assuming something always has an associated risk of being wrong. That is what I meant. Clearly 1+1=2 in any place or time.- N468989

Time: A Scientific Exploration
You are correct. I misused the term "wish", but was not meant in a supernatural way. Anyway math is only a tool for making the physical world more understandable, sometimes we must come up with something new. What is valid today might not be tomorrow.- N468989

Well you can actually, assuming you prove it of course.- N468989

Time: A Scientific Exploration
To exist space there must exist time. Time is a consequence of space and vice-versa and they must coexist. For something to change in space there must be a time sequence associated, so we can assume that time is another dimension, sure. Theoretical physicists suggest that there are parallel...- N468989

Time: A Scientific Exploration
Nobody knows, if anyone states anything it is only a theory. In my opinion we will never know, but we will eventually get closer... I believe everything has always existed, we are just newcomers to this reality.- N468989

Time: A Scientific Exploration
The time as we perceive is relative to the observer. The biological time is constant, which is the rate at which we live. If we where to go outer space and travel at speed near the speed of light we would age less compared to people on earth, thus "travelling into the future". When we came back...- N468989

Time: A Scientific Exploration
Time is the rate at which things change. Some perceive it as fast others slow. It is said that if we were capable of traveling at the speed of light time would stop.- N468989

Stuxnet specifically to destroy a real-world target
Well, everything nowadays is connected to computers and these to the internet. This means it is theoretically possible, but such critical areas might not be that way. WWIII will most definitely be fought with computers, so that isn't anything new...- N468989

Is there life in the universe, and if so has it visited Earth?
Could it be possible that some being greatly more advanced than us evolve in a few days on any other place in the universe and completely wipe us out? It's like what we are to insect's and animals. So much more power. Just to imagine that the rate of evolution of life in another place could be...- N468989

Is there life in the universe, and if so has it visited Earth?
Does it matter? The questions are always Who?What? When?Where? Why?How? Let's be reasonable, if we had the answer this thread wouldn't even exist, more the less, if you had the answer you wouldn't give a damn so to speak. Give me your opinion instead of refuting/questioning my comments, they only...- N468989

Is there life in the universe, and if so has it visited Earth?
To fully understand if we are, or not alone, we must first define what we understand by alone. Beforehand, we must understand who we are, what is our meaning of existence (if there is such), and what is our purpose.- N468989

Is there life in the universe, and if so has it visited Earth?
We can only imagine it's that way, due to our limited understanding of our being. We might be capable of understanding someday, but not today. What we know as valid today, tomorrow can be invalid. Didn't we believe the sun circled the earth? Proof is there but we haven't been looking hard...- N468989
