Gravity anomaly of a dipping prism
I had a quick read of the paper. Granted, the notation that the author uses is not clear and rather cumbersome. I am not sure whether this helps, but if I were you, I would derive the gravity effect formula for a simple case (i.e. rectangular prism, semi-infinite slab, etc) and see how the...- NullSpaceMan

Graduate Volume Bound By Multiple Solids
Hi, I have a question regarding appropriate methods of finding volumes bound by geometric solids. I can work through the math in MatLab by finding points in common within each solid volume...but it is very laborious and I thought that I'd ask you math people how you would tackle this...- NullSpaceMan

Schools Grad School & GPA: Advice for Undergrads
Hi all I have some questions, and I know I am probably repeating previous questions asked in this forum. I am taking a rigorous applied physics degree (engineering certified with all of the loverly physics major courses) and I am coming towards the middle of my third year. I have...- NullSpaceMan

Undergrad Inner products and orthogonal basis
Thanks. I am familiar with the grahm-schmidt algorithm, but I was wondering how I would go about proving a given basis is orthogonal relative to an inner product? How do I picture such in my head? thanks again,- NullSpaceMan

Undergrad Inner products and orthogonal basis
Hi all! This looks a pretty nice forum. So here's my question: How do I find/show a basis or orthogonal basis relative to an inner product? The reason I ask, is because in my mind I see the inner product as a scalar, and thus I find it difficult to "imagine" how a scalar lives in a...- NullSpaceMan
