How Do I Solve These Tricky Integration Problems?
I am having problem with two math questions that I have been asked to try and although I do not need to do them they are really frustrating me. First off intergrate (x-1)/squareroot(4x^2-1) I am sure this is something to do with replacing x to get cos^2 (x)-1 so that this becomes 2cos(2x)...- nuub

How Can Thermal Sources and UV Index Help in Science?
I do not know the answers to these, but making a guess... 1. mosquito's are generally found in warmer climates and so perhaps they are simply attracted to the heat source rather than you body 2. Perhaps this led them to realize that the O-zone layer reacts with UV soaking a certain proportion...- nuub

Two Questions, one very complicated
for the other question f=mgsin5-0.05*mgcos5 f=ma therefore you can work out the acceleration of the single truck then again use v^2=u^2+2as to work out the final speed then use conservation of momentum at the bottom i.e. mu=4mv and you can work out the final speed of all the cars- nuub

Two Questions, one very complicated
can you assume that the deceleration as he hits the ground is constant? If so use the formula v^2=u^2+2*a*s, This will let you work out the acceleration and so using F=ma you can work out his force. therefore 4^2/(2*0.2) =40 f=65*40=2600N This looks a bit big so I may be wrong- nuub

Noise reduction in a jet engine
I am in the process of writing a report on the Physics of Jet engines and I have come across a problem I cannot comprehend. In the exhaust of many jet engines they allow the atmospheric air to mix with the air from the engine to reduce exhaust noise. From what I understand this allows the...- nuub

Rebirth of the Hypersoar Program
From what I understand the X-43 is not ment to be a shuttle replacement but rather to test their new scramjet propulsion system (I am just doing a project on this and I would appreciate it if you told me if this is correct or not). Also from what I understand the scramjet doesn't opperate...- nuub

Need Help with Advancing Physics C/W? Let's Tackle Data Analysis Together!
I am doing the advancing physics a-level (I did AS level last year). However, I didn't do any data analysis project we did a sensor project and a research and presentation project. Is your board OCR? Anyway if you need any help just message me and I will be happy to help.- nuub
