High School Son's: Seeing Objects from Earth

I don't know about resolutions etc because I am not an astronomer, so maybe you tell me, but I really don't see what these two facts have to do with anything. How big is a moon buggy that can carry two people - 15feet long perhaps? Clementine provided some pretty good photos and it was...

High School Is There Life on the Moon? The Possibility of Lunar Ice and Its Implications

So is it just the high winds that makes rocks move in the deserts? If we ever find life in the universe, it is possible that it is not based on water. Just because we are based in a water environment, does not mean that all other life forms (if there are any) have to be.

Undergrad Could a Solar Flare destroy life on our planet?

Just interested in this. Can these be detected in the soil? How about the massive nucular/meteorite explosion that occurred in Russia that stripped all the trees? No-one knows whether there was anyone out there at the time of this event. I can understand how radioactive radiation can be detected...

High School Son's: Seeing Objects from Earth

It would be nice if we saw some artifacts left on the moon rather than just a few places where the ground has been scorched from the rockets on takeoff & landing. I feel that a moon buggy really should be large enough to show up on some satellite photos somewhere - and in extremely good detail...

High School Is There Life on the Moon? The Possibility of Lunar Ice and Its Implications

Life has been found at the bottom of the oceans in really terrible (what we think impossible) conditions, so it is always possible that life can exist in other forms and not need the things which we need to survive. To say that live cannot exist in ice means that a) we have not found any...

Undergrad Intelligent Life: Questions & Considerations

Sometimes I wonder what planet you guys come from. Tell me honestly if anyone would actually disclose whether intelligent life had been detected. Think of the ramifications of the disclosure and, depending on how close to home they were found, it would cause chaos. SETI will only ever be...

Can someone tell me what this is please?

Since I don't have the data of the surveyor and prospector missions, I cannot make any comment about it. However, from what you say above, it seems like you are saying that there are more detailed images of this area that do show this 'glitch' in more detail. Do the other photos of the same area...

Can someone tell me what this is please?

OK, you have nearly convinced me that this is the answer, but I thought bad data was supposed to be documented so that scientists could accurately study features on the surface. Scientists write peer-reviewed papers which enhance their careers and get published to New Scientist etc from these...

Can someone tell me what this is please?

That is a pretty hefty glitch then. As I understood it, the vertical lines are not 'glitches' at all but are where the satellite takes pictures in 'strips' of moon as it moves over the surface. These strips are then stuck together to make up a reasonable-sized image. Isn't that correct then...

Can someone tell me what this is please?

I am sure you have your fair share of nutters on this forum, and you can pass me off as this if you choose to. However, this is a perfectly reasonable question to people who might know - I have been wondering about this structure on the moon, shown in an official Clementine Mission photo...

High School Is There Life on the Moon? The Possibility of Lunar Ice and Its Implications

"Life as we know it Jim" (Startrek) is based on water, but perhaps there are other lifeforms in our part of the galaxy.
