Undergrad Understanding Trampoline Mechanics
Hi I'm just trying to understand the mechanics of a trampoline, as i think it will better understand my understanding of mechanics as a whole. This is my model: We have some plastic fabric which we will assume is inelastic. A circular trampoline where we have 30 identical springs which are... -

Undergrad How do current, charge and voltage change during capacitor charging and discharging?
From your new sketches it looks like current increases when it is discharging, doesn't this contradict what was previously said. But thanks again for the sketches they make this point really clear. Thanks- ojsimon

Why is the potential at P less than at Q if P is the positive terminal?
Hi Ok so i came across this question which asks you to find the force on electrons in a wire which is moving in a magnetic field, hence the opposite to the direction of the current. I worked out using The right hand rule that the current would be going from point P to Q, which was write...- ojsimon

Undergrad How do current, charge and voltage change during capacitor charging and discharging?
Ok so i am just trying to clarify a few points about capacitor charge, discharge, i was wondering if anyone could help. 1)In charging, am i right in thinking current decreases exponentially, charge increases exponentially, and voltage increases exponentially.? 3) Am i write in thinking in...- ojsimon

Undergrad How can I differentiate modulus?
Ok so i was wondering if what i am doing is correct, But it gets the wrong minimum point? So my function is y=|x+4| 1) y^2=x+4 2)2y(dy/dx)=1 3)dy/dx = 1/2y 4)dy/dx = 1/2|x+4| I set that 0 and get 0=1/(2(|x+4|)) Am i write in thinking this cannot be solved? or missing something... -

High School Simplifying A^(-1/2) = (t^-1 + 1)/2 for A
Hi, I am trying to simplify this equation and it won't work using this method, although i can do it using another method, so this method should work too. Could someone please look at my working and tell me where I am going wrong? -t^-1=-2A-(1/2)+1 2A^-(1/2)=t^-1 +1 A^(-1/2)=(t^-1 +1)/2...- ojsimon
