How Do You Determine Position as a Function of Time from Acceleration?
Are you familiar with differential equations? Are you sure it's not a(t) = 2t? If you really mean a(t)= 2x(t), then you have a second order differential equation.- Pengwuino

Imperial measurements just feel better
As others have said, the fact that you find it easy to work with one vs. the other is due to experience and members from metric countries have pointed out that our imperial system is confusing to them. The REAL problem is conversions in a scientific setting. Let's say you're a cook and you...- Pengwuino

Calculating Time for Electron to Slow Down in Electric Field
The electron will slow down. Given some electric field and a charge, what is the force that will be experienced by the electron? Knowing this, how can you calculate the acceleration using Newton's 2nd Law? This should give you a good start. Your equation for an electric field is not needed since...- Pengwuino

Schools Physics BSc to Nuclear Engineering for Grad School
I took the same route except I did my MS in Physics as well. It's certainly possible. The main difficulty for me was not having the background in the sense that I didn't know industry standards, terminology, etc. I'd recommend taking or sitting in on some of the pertinent undergraduate courses...- Pengwuino

Is It Better to Fold or Roll Clothes in Your Luggage?
How many articles of clothing and how long until you have to leave? I should be able to create a computer model that will give you an answer 8 hours after you have to leave.- Pengwuino

Can You Thrive Without Facebook or Other Social Networks?
I don't use PF as much of a social network. I know people on this website and talk to some of them rather frequently, but almost none of which I'd call real friends. In contrast, facebook is my social networking site and my friends are there. PF is just a site where other people with similar...- Pengwuino

Mathematica Questions about Getting Mathematica for Differential Equations
Assuming you're at a university, have you checked to see if your university has a deal to provide Mathematica for their students? Mine allows you to have it for free without any license restrictions or anything.- Pengwuino

I recommend CodeBlocks as well if you're not comfortable programming yet. It is available for Windows and has a debugger and everything you need to just get to the programming aspect of learning C.- Pengwuino

Undergrad Is There a Calculus Relationship Between These Kinematics Equations?
Exactly. The velocity of an object is simply the time-derivative of its position function. -

Physics curriculum w/out linear algebra?
You probably don't need to take a proper linear algebra class from the Math department because I suspect taking the math methods course within your own department will be sufficient. I would personally grab the linear algebra text to study on the side, however. It probably depends greatly on...- Pengwuino
