Programs Best Places to Recieve a Degree (Maths) From?

In my opinion a University with family accomodation which is nice and quiet is good enough for me, like York or Durham. As long as the University lies within the top 20 for Physics in the UK I am not particularly bothered, the core content is generally the same. The location and facilities...

    Ideal gas law and pressure

Your conversion into cubic metres is incorrect, remember it is cubic: Therefore; 0.0004m^3 Use that value for volume and you should calculate the correct answer, which is 7275187Pa or 7.3MPa.

I need some serious adivice for my futureengineers, math people please help me

There are so many people with similar stories, its quite amazing and interesting to see what people have done; quite an inspiration to people that are worried that they are too old or think they are stuck doing a Degree they are not truly interested in. It isn't natural ability that does...

    I need a math mentor

franz I don't know about asking, but I think he is thinking that Universities are for the rich (or upper class citizen), and he is not.

    I need a math mentor

My brother picks up maths a lot better than I do, but I am prepared to do the hard work, I taught myself maths and physics at 19; I was not in any way a good student at school, disruptive at most times. Mathematics definitely is not natural for me, but it just takes dedication to learn.

    Experimental vs. theoretical

I personally think Theorists can save a lot of money, instead of wasting millions on experiments that can never happen due to certain laws or principles (laws only Theorists work hundreds of hours to apply to different ideas). Theorists spend a lot of time thinking about things that can...

    Christmas Physics

After many careful hours of painstaking research, I have compiled the most expansive physics experiment ever performed on Santa Claus. I hope you can give me the due credit when you show off your cute article. After all, it is my life, my thesis, my reason for existence on this blessed earth...

Can a BH ever be overwhelmed by too much matter per unit of time?

    Programs Choosing a Degree?

I was more getting at the point that people should enjoy doing maths either as maths or applying it to something they are interested in. Some people get attached to the idea of science fiction and don't actually recognise how much maths plays a role in physics.

    Programs Choosing a Degree?

Ah, just I know a few people that do physics Part-time and wished they had done it full time in their younger years. Its not so much worrying I do, I just feel so much more at ease if I have a plan :) I love maths, and I think anybody that is getting into Physics should genuinly enjoy...

    Programs Choosing a Degree?

Does University require a "steeper" learning curve than A-Levels, I guess I am trying to ask... is it harder work? I know it is more advanced. A lot of people say University is easier than A-Levels.

    Programs Choosing a Degree?

I certainly didn't get into physics because of any popular books, it was more around watching programs like Star Trek and say "that would never work.." and other people sat in the room saying "Shh!". I always enjoyed mathematics in school and got great satisfaction in solving problems, but I...
